Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Summary: Assemble pre-machined components/parts and “assemble” the units into fixtures or displays

Requirements:

Level 1  

  • Able to use common hand tools
  • Familiar with the types of fasteners
  • Understand how to operate a table saw and chop saw
  • Basic knowledge of woodworking
  • Basic knowledge of adhesives

Level 2

  • Assemble units squarely and within dimensional tolerances
  • Knowledge of how to operate and adjust assembly equipment, including: table saw, jointer, hand router, splinter, power screwdrivers, power screw dado machine, and miscellaneous hand tools
  • Basic knowledge of various joinery options
  • Awareness of budgets for work order
  • Basic sanding knowledge of wood and solid surface
  • Able to fasten using adhesives and knowledge of dry time needed
  • Able to read blueprints and work packet information

Level 3  

  • Demonstrate ability to use detailed measuring device equipment
  • Interpret blueprints for assembly
  • Knowledge of wood species and characteristics
  • Exhibit knowledge of touch-up processes, such as, filler sticks, putty sticks, etc
  • Understand how to prep for finishing
  • Knowledge of metal break and sheer
  • Know how to maintain and care for tools
  • Able to pull information from work packet, such as: budget, material and hardware requirements

Level 4  

  • Exhibit knowledge on how to use all assembly equipment
  • Select appropriate fasteners and adhesives for the process
  • In depth knowledge of work packets and section views
  • Review the quality of the product
  • Advanced knowledge of joinery and fastener types
  • Determine best adhesives to use for project: metal, wood, etc
  • Mark fixtures with the correct information
  • Knowledge of inlay material for detailed process
  • Advanced knowledge of wood characteristics and species

Level 5  

  • Assist co-workers by being willing to answer questions
  • Identify joinery types, when to use, and the difference between a field joint versus a shop joint
  • Complete dry fitting of field joints and document appropriately
  • Demonstrate the ability to use all power equipment and hand tools in the assembly area
  • Responsible for budget attainment and the quality level of product
  • Understand fixture construction process
  • Familiar with door/drawer mounting and various types of hardware applications
  • Knowledge of outfitting basic wiring
  • Extensive knowledge of wood characteristics, species, handling, etc.
  • Complete understanding of how to read a blueprint and work packet

Journeyman

  • Leader others by showing them the best method and mentoring them through the process
  • Cross-train to learn other functions
  • Identify construction methods to improve the current process
  • Ensure a quality product is being produced for the customer
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the area with little supervision.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media according to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Determine and develop CNC tool path for each component part
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary.
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Performs routine maintenance tasks on machines as required.
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment, to like new appearance, according to maintenance plans and established procedures.
  • Monitor and expedite information to establish and maintain project schedule within budget
  • Capacity to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and urgency
  • Interpret complex drawings, apply knowledge to solutions and incorporate changes where deemed necessary
  • Analyze fixture construction and manufacturing techniques
  • Maintain and update drawings and/or changes from ‘start to finish’ on assigned projects
  • Analyze detailed and complex drawings to determine specific requirements
  • Follow through in the manufacturing of a projects
  • Anticipate, recommend and respond to changes where needed to ensure products can be delivered and installed per plan
  • Assist in training of team members to meet established standards
  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Production Manager

Requirements:

  • A two year technical degree in AutoCad, manufacturing, and /or engineering.
  • Three years of engineering background in the area of design and manufacturing and /or three years of shop floor experience.
  • Solid computer skills in MS Office and CAD.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
  • Exceptional knowledge of shop drawings, design drawings, architect drawings, bill of material structure, routing structure, work center methodology and standard machining methods.

Summary:

The Shop Floor Supervisor role, has the overall responsibility for the facilitation and management of the assigned departments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain regulatory compliance (EPA, OSHA, etc.)
  • Foster and enforce a positive safety environment and support all company and plant safety initiatives
  • Monitor use of safety devices and equipment, supervise departmental housekeeping and maintain a constant alert for hazardous conditions
  • Direct the work of the department employees – Hand out work to shop floor – Involve the Master Craftsman and Managers from other areas as needed
  • Attend production meetings and communicate information to other departments as needed
  • Understand Ship Schedule & Weekly Load list – monitor status of all current work orders to meet delivery dates.
  • Ensure quality controls are enforced in the assigned departments and that all procedures are followed
  • Perform routine quality inspections of product to maintain conformance to the Customer’s specifications
  • Identify process improvements to increase safety, quality and efficiency in all departments
  • Ensure all UL and ETL requirements are being met per engineered drawings and regulatory procedures
  • Monitor budget attainment and implement corrective action as needed
  • Place orders and maintain inventory for department supplies
  • Provide respectful feedback to employees on their performance and help develop employees to grow with the company
  • Consistently, hold direct reports accountable for their actions
  • Facilitate necessary training for direct employees to maintain skills

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of fixture assembly and construction
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Problem-solving/decision-making capabilities
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite
  • Able to read construction and assembly drawings
  • Understand client quality expectations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to read blueprint drawings
  • Previous fixture experience
  • Associate degree

Specific Departments Assigned to this Position:

  • Finishing, Outfitting and Shipping

Department Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate finish sample production and storage in the Finishing Department
  • Facilitate the development, documentation and record-keeping for finish recipes
  • Understand and maintain a preventative maintenance program for Finish Room equipment
  • Place orders and maintain inventory for finishing and shipping supplies
  • Contact carrier(s) and arrange shipping
  • Oversee UPS Shipments
  • Ensure accurate and safe loading of all fixtures, tools and materials

Department Specific Requirements:

  • Combined, three or more years of experience in a Finishing, Outfitting or Shipping environment
  • Current Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Possess basic knowledge and an understanding of the science of wood finishing
  • Experience with UPS and Hazardous shipping
  • Possesses basic understanding of electrical systems including wiring and components

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Senior Buyer/Planner: 

  • Manages and effectively communicates timelines for all purchasing activities to meet project milestones and purchasing deliverables
  • Evaluates and chooses suppliers Goebel will do business with. This includes examining quality of product, pricing, and delivery time, then deciding which suppliers best fit Goebel’s needs
  • Works with stakeholders to establish viable, cost effective, and strategic sourcing objectives
  • Takes directive from project teams to get finish samples from suppliers to meet the expectations of the clients and their material selections
  • Works with project teams on client forecasts and planning levels to maintain optimal inventory levels
  • Collaborates with estimating to ensure materials costs are current and accurate for future bids
  • Conducts supplier site visits and audits
  • Maintains required purchasing information in ERP system
  • Negotiate with suppliers on pricing and delivery and work to develop programs that produce sustainable results
  • Maintain supplier metrics for use in supplier report cards and reviews
  • Build long‐term relationships with vendors in the industry
  • Proactively seek alternative suppliers, products, and pricing opportunities
  • Track the quality of the products bought and follow up with the rejected material dollar recovery
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by management

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement or related field preferred. Equivalent experience also
  • 3‐5 years of experience in purchasing and/or project management
  • Experience in architectural millwork or store fixture industry preferred
  • Proficient Computer skills in MS Office and Project Management programs (MRP/ERP)
  • Ability to read and understand bid documents, specifications, spreadsheets, shop drawings and blueprints is mandatory
  • Possess good analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Individual must be a motivated team player that can add value to a team environment
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision; possess self‐discipline with the ability to effectively prioritize
  • Ability to think creatively and apply ingenuity to problem solving
