Summary: Assemble pre-machined components/parts and “assemble” the units into fixtures or displays

Requirements:

Level 1  

  • Able to use common hand tools
  • Familiar with the types of fasteners
  • Understand how to operate a table saw and chop saw
  • Basic knowledge of woodworking

Level 2

  • Assemble units squarely and within dimensional tolerances
  • Knowledge of how to operate and adjust assembly equipment, including: table saw, jointer, hand router, splinter, power screwdrivers, power screw dado machine, and miscellaneous hand tools

  • Awareness of budgets for work order

  • Identify joinery types, when to use, and the difference between a field joint versus a shop joint

  • Responsible for budget attainment and the quality level of product
  • Understand fixture construction process
  • Familiar with door/drawer mounting and various types of hardware applications

Finishing Supervisor

Summary:

The Finishing Supervisor role has the overall responsibility for the facilitation and management of the finishing functions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain regulatory compliance (EPA, OSHA, etc.)
  • Foster and enforce a positive safety environment and support all company and plant safety initiatives.
  • Monitor use of safety devices and equipment, supervise departmental housekeeping and maintain a constant alert for hazardous conditions.
  • Direct the work of the Finishing Room Employees – Hand out work to shop floor – move employees as needed to meet shipping dates – Involve the Master Craftsman and Managers from other areas as needed.
  • Ship Schedule & Weekly Load list – monitor status of all current work orders to meet delivery dates.
  • Provide exceptional finishing quality.
  • Ensure quality controls and Finish Room Procedures are followed.
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Facilitate finish sample production and sample storage.
  • Develop, document and maintain records for finish recipes.
  • Monitor budget and quality on each work order.
  • Inspect every part leaving the Finish Room for quality of finish and conformance to the Customer’s specifications.
  • Understand and maintain a preventative maintenance program for Finish Room equipment.
  • Provide respectful feedback to employees on their performance and help develop employees to grow with the company.
  • Place orders for finishing supplies and maintain inventory.
  • Consistently, hold direct reports accountable for their actions.
  • Facilitate necessary training for direct employees to maintain skills.

Requirements:

  • Five or more years of experience in a finish environment
  • Ability to color match different types of finishes
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Problem solving/decision making capabilities
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of fixture assembly and construction
  • Able to read construction and assembly drawings

Duties & Responsibilities

Summary: The Product Engineering role is responsible for the Form, Fit, and Function of all the products that they create, along with the creation of approval and shop drawings through the use of SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze architectural specifications and details to develop drawings for client submittal
  • Create accurate approval drawings and details by using a value engineering approach
  • Evaluate and specify materials, and produce drawings that ensure the proper form, fit and function for production and installation
  • Anticipate, recommend, and respond to changes where needed to ensure products can be delivered and installed per plan
  • Develop purchased part commodity drawings for unique manufactured items
  • Maintain and update all drawings with changes from ‘start to finish’ on assigned projects

  • Monitor and expedite information to establish and maintain project schedule within budget
